Located in Barrington, on Nova Scotia's South Shore, the Western Counties Military Museum is home to over 4000 military artifacts and mementos from World Wars I and II, the Korean War and other military operations. You'll see cannonballs dating back to the 1600s, numerous uniforms and medals of merit and valour and a large collection of historic photographs on display. A unique item in this collection is an ejection seat from a CF100 fighter jet used by a local serviceman.

The Old Court House, which houses the Military Museum, was built in 1843 and is the third-oldest courthouse in Nova Scotia. You'll see a collection of local indigenous artifacts and a wonderful exhibit featuring items from an ongoing archaeological dig of a mid-1600s French fortified fur trading post located just minutes away from the museum.

This museum site is part of a four-site complex, all within walking distance of each other along the scenic Barrington River.
