Description

The Cape Sable Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation of local history through exhibits and archives for the Municipality of Barrington and surrounding areas that make up the region of Cap de Sable, named by Samuel de Champlain in the 17th century as he explored our shores.

With a large collection of records and data in various mediums, including indexed binders of local newspapers (births, deaths and marriages) going back to the 1800s, the archives are a treasure trove of information for researchers and genealogists. Free wi-fi is available.

This site is a part of four-site complex, all within walking distance of each other along the scenic Barrington River.
