Cape Forchu Lightstation, the first “applecore” style lighthouse, is located 11 km (7 mi) from the town of Yarmouth on the Cape Forchu Scenic Drive in the Yarmouth & Acadian Shores region. Along the route to the Lightstation you will pass the Fisherman’s Monument, working fishing villages and beautiful sandy beaches.
Visit the Lightkeeper’s House, a municipal/provincial Heritage Property and home to the interpretive and information centre where you can explore the history of the Light, Cape Forchu and its people. Guided tours are also available. Visit the fog alarm building to see the DCB36 lens in action and listen to the old fog alarm. Enjoy the traditional flavours of Nova Scotia in The Keeper's Kitchen, open daily except Mondays.
Our 19 acres of well-groomed grounds provide a great place to have a picnic and to stroll along the scenic walkway.
Wireless Internet access is available. Bus tours are welcome.
