Cook, crack, and enjoy fresh lobster on a beach steeped in history as the sun sets over the Gulf of St.Lawrence. Share tunes, stories, local knowledge and more as you dine. Listen as your guide presents a short talk about the natural and cultural history of lobster and the island’s lobster fishing industry, as well as its ties to Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

Lobsters are fascinating creatures, but many people don’t know very much about them. Learn all about their biology, how lobster traps work, how the lobster fishing industry has evolved, and how we’re working to protect the crustaceans’ natural habitat. And, of course, participate in the process of cooking your lobster, as your interpreter demonstrates and assists in learning how to open them. In addition to the lobster, enjoy a salad of mixed greens with homemade vinaigrette and freshly-baked rolls from a local bakery, and finish the meal off with tea and cookies.
