Description

Discover stunning, ever-changing sand dunes, hundreds of wild horses and the largest grey seal colony in the world, on this trip of a lifetime to Sable Island National Park Reserve!

Our expedition starts as we board our aircraft and fly 300km over the Atlantic Ocean. Landing on the beach at Sable Island, we’ll be welcomed by Parks Canada staff for a brief orientation on how to experience the island. Your Kattuk Expeditions guide will then lead you along the dunes to see the island's wild horses, unique bird species, and the largest colony of grey seals in North America! Following a gourmet picnic lunch, featuring organic, locally-sourced ingredients, you’ll also have a chance to explore the island on your own—soaking in the awe of this magical place.

Experience Includes:

  • Welcome orientation of Sable Island with Parks Canada staff
  • 6-8 hours of guided walking and exploration with Kattuk Expeditions. All guides have Wilderness and Remote First Aid Certification
  • Gourmet picnic lunch, provided by renowned local chef, Dennis Johnston – instrumental in Nova Scotia’s slow-food movement
  • Return transportation to Halifax Stanfield International Airport with Sable Aviation (airplane) or Vision Air Services (helicopter) (about 1.25 hours each way)
  • Meet Zoe Lucas from the Sable Island Institute. A portion of the experience cost will be donated to the Sable Island Institute.
