Revolutionary War Encampment, the Second Citadel in the age of Revolution Encampment
Members of various maritime living history groups will again set up a military camp along the Halifax Citadel’s western ramparts depicting the time of the American Revolution, when thousands of Loyalists immigrated to Nova Scotia and made a significant contribution to a new country that would eventually become Canada. Special displays will include camp cooking, costumes of the period, musket and cannon firings on the parade squares, and displays of military medical techniques. Come try on period clothing, take in the scent of the camp fires, and immerse yourself in this pivotal period in Canada's history. The Encampment opens Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
