Description

The Music Room Chamber Players Series: Season 8
Wednesday, February 19th, 2020 at 7:30pm

India Yeshe Gailey is a young musician to watch. A student of Matt Haimovitz and a member of our 2019 Young Artist Ensemble in Residence, she writes: “Cello repertoire from the 21st century - ethereal songs that link ancient and modern, East and West, nature and humanity. Including music by Canadian, American, and European composers of both common genders, the divide between classical and non-classical is softened, the mood soulful and eclectic”.

  • Philip Glass - Orbit; The Secret Agent; The Paris Sky
  • Kaija Saariaho - Sept Papillons
  • Fjóla Evans - Augun
  • Giovanni Sollima - Alone
  • India Yeshe Gailey - New piece
  • Michael Harrison - Just Ancient Loops

Join us in the beautifully intimate Peggy Corkum Music Room for a fantastic night of chamber music.

Presented by Scotia Festival of Music
