The Music Room Chamber Players Series: Season 8
Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 7:30pm

One of the last works Schumann wrote before his tragic mental breakdown, the “Fairy Tales” are moving and lyrical, but already show the immense strain he was under. Hungarian composer György Kurtág’s “Hommage” delves into the world of this piece behind the notes. Don’t miss the acclaimed Iris Trio, who have quickly made their mark with sold-out performances in New York, Germany and Australia.

  • Schumann - Fairy Tales, Op. 134
  • Kurtág - Hommage à R.Sch., Op. 15d (2003)
  • Bruch - Eight Pieces, Op. 83
  • Florian Hoefner - Bird Island Suite

Featuring The Iris Trio: Christine Carter, clarinet; Molly Carr, viola; Anna Petrova, piano

Join us in the beautifully intimate Peggy Corkum Music Room for a fantastic night of chamber music.

Presented by Scotia Festival of Music
