Homemade Applesauce

1 cup apple cider or juice
4 apples
1/4 cup raisins
½ tsp cinnamon
pinch cloves or allspice


  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until boiling.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, stirring often, until thickened (about 20 minutes).

Makes 2.5 cups
