With fall being a beautiful time of year in Nova Scotia, it’s not hard to find a reason to get out and enjoy yourself. Nova Scotia has played host to various Oktoberfest celebrations across the province for decades. The Craft Beer industry in Nova Scotia has been doing some pretty great things, resulting in celebrations better than ever!

Tatamagouche Oktoberfest

Welcome to the largest Oktoberfest east of Ontario. 2014 will mark the 35th year for the Oktoberfest put on by North Shore Bavarian Society in the town of Tatamagouche on the provinces Northumberland Shore.

Grab a beer stein and visit the beer garden or dance the night away to the sounds of top notch German bands. Then refuel with German sausages and schnitzel, or keep things Nova Scotian with a fresh lobster roll.

Halifax Oktoberbest

Halifax’s very own Garrison Brewering celebrates German culture each year with the Halifax Oktoberfest at the Halifax Seaport.

The street beside Garrison is shut down, transforming the Pavion into a Bavarian-themed beer hall overflowing with authentic Bavarian cuisine, beverages, music and games. Bring the family for the day or join in the evenings 19+ festivities which include live music, a pig roast, and craft beer.

Celtic Oktoberfest

Take part in Cape Breton’s first ever craft beer and local foods celebration! 10 of Nova Scotia’s best craft breweries and 8 Cape Breton restaurants will team up to bring you what will no doubt be an evening of delicious indulgence.

To make it a true Cape Breton Experience the event will of course be topped off with live Celtic Music. Check out this Celtic spin on Oktoberfest in Port Hawkesbury!
