Rafting in Nova Scotia
Discover Tidal Bore Rafting
Powered by the world famous Bay of Fundy tidal bore, Nova Scotia’s tidal bore rafting tours are unlike any other rafting experience on the planet.
Imagine floating on a calm, peaceful river taking in the scenic cliffs one moment, and seeing it transformed into raging rapids the next. Twice a day when the tide changes, the bore temporarily reverses the flow of the river, creating incredible roller coaster rapids.
Our experienced tour guides manoeuvre Zodiacs upriver as you learn about the tides and geology of the area. Take in the sights as you head up river, because once you hit the tidal bore you’ll be busy crashing through the wall of waves in front of you. It’s a ride you will never forget.
Bay of Fundy tidal bore rafting is fun for all ages. Check your rafting operator’s tide schedule to choose a high to low intensity tour. Remember to wear old clothes because rafting the tidal bore is as exciting as it is dirty.
Mud Sliding on the Shubenacadie River
Did we forget to mention that no rafting tour is complete without a chance to go mud sliding? You will find your inner child as you slip and slide your way down the smooth and slippery, muddy banks of the Shubenacadie River. There is no doubt that after this experience you will need a shower.
Bay of Fundy Tides
Canada’s Bay of Fundy is an incredible marine phenomenon. Every 6 hours, 100 billion tons of seawater rush in or out of the Bay of Fundy, producing tides ranging from 3.5 meters (11 ft) to an incredible 16 meters (53ft). These are the highest tides in the world and they create an array of currents and waves on the Shubenacadie River which make this rare tidal bore river rafting experience possible. This is a must-do adventure trip on your Nova Scotia vacation.
