Stellar Beach Feast at White Point
White Point Beach Resort
75 White Point Beach Resort Road, White Point (South Shore), B0T 1G0, South Shore
Indulge in a gourmet beach feast by firelight and starlight hosted by a Dark Sky expert, your own chef and sommelier.
White Point Beach Resort is the perfect location for a gourmet beachside feast for the senses! As the sun begins to set over the Atlantic Ocean, gather ‘round the bonfire – the original social network – to meet your guides and fellow experiencers, over steamed mussels and Nova Scotia wine.
Follow the boardwalk to the beach, where your dinner table awaits! Executive Chef Alan Crosby will prepare your next two courses tableside, while Sommelier Dan Tanner expertly pairs the wine. After dinner, under the cloak of darkness, you’ll be led along the 1km white sand beach as Dark Sky Interpreter Paul Lalonde shares local stories and Mi’kmaq legends about the constellations, moon and shoreline.
Your beach walk is topped off with a decadent dessert, but the evening’s not over yet! For a night cap, you’ll be led to a secret location for a Blind Wine Tasting. With blindfolds donned, your palate will tour five Nova Scotian Vineyards. One at a time, you’ll sip and savour the star-studded selection, being rewarded with a greater awareness and appreciation of the distinct tastes of Nova Scotia.
- 1st Course: Sundown Mussels steamed over an open fire with chipotle, smoked tomato and cream, and paired with Benjamin Bridge Nova 7.
- 2nd Course: Twilight Lobster on Toast: House-baked star brioche, Shelburne County lobster, double smoked bacon, cream and cognac, paired with Blomidon Reserve Chardonnay
- 3rd Course: “Darkness” Braised Shortribs: Braised for 6 hours in Boxing Rock’s “The Darkness” dark ale, roasted chilies and cocoa, parsnip mash and vegetables, paired with Luckett Vineyards Black Cab
- 4th Course: Decadent sea-salty dark chocolate dessert
