Kirkin' o' the Tartan is a church sevice following the ancient Scots tradition of blessing Scottish families by blessing clan tartans. This ancient rite began when tartans were forbidden. Scots would wear the tartan secretly and have it blessed. At the present day Kirkin, Scots wear or carry their tartans to church to have them blessed as a way of acknowledging the importance of the kirk in maintaining their heritage and culture. The Kirkin' Church service starts at 2:30 pm and is open to all. Reception will follow at St. Andrew's United Church Hall, 329 Main Street, Wolfville, NS
