MacLarens of Crieff Scotland
Posted by: Sheila Hunter
Region: Halifax Metro
Laurence and Annie (Davidson) MacLaren came to Nova Scotia c.1828 with 11 month old Elizabeth. They had several more children after arriving here. Elizabeth married Adam Hunter and her sister Jean married his brother David Hunter. Their sister Janet married a Smith, who operated the Rope works in Dartmouth. Adam and David's father remained in Dartmouth, but I cannot find out where the MacLarens went although it seems likely both families must have lived near each other since 2 sisters married brothers. Also 1 of the younger MacLarens was named Adam Hunter MacLaren, I assume after Adam Hunter!
