The Beaton Institute is a regional archives and research centre that contains over 3,000 manuscript collections, 70,000 photographs, 5,000 audio and video tapes, CD's and CD-ROM's, 2,000 maps and plans, several dozen newspapers as well as a growing newspaper " clippings" file and 1500 reference books, many of which are rare. Research papers of historical nature are kept as reports and housed in the archives.

Should you wish to hire a researcher for an ongoing project, we are able to put you in contact with local researchers. The client and the researcher are asked to negotiate their own rates.
The rates for the reproduction of multi-media items are varied and some forms of reproduction cannot be completed on site. Please contact the Beaton Institute for a quote.

Yes, it's true you can get a little lobster on the run, but I highly recommend you also take the slow food route. Enjoy the experience at one of our fabulous restaurants, or even get it straight of the boat. Tuck in a bib...no one is looking.

No doubt about it: our Bay of Fundy beaches are well-loved and oft-visited by locals year round. Lovely in the 'fair weather' months, that's for sure, but in winter the snow and tides make for some curious experiences...
