Originally named “My Other Brother Darrell’s” after a catchphrase from the 1980s sitcom Newhart, Darrell’s Resto blazed the trail for gourmet burgers in Halifax. They solidified their reputation as having one of the best burgers in town with their specialty, the Peanut Butter Burger, a surprise hit. They even serve a “Birthday Cake Edition”: one 4 ½ lb burger fashioned as a birthday cake. Darrell’s has won The Coast’s Best of Food Awards in the category of Best Burger in Halifax for a decade running.
