A Place of Sea and Song
Yarmouth & Acadian Shores
Lara and Ted found the lively, colourful energy of the Acadian culture to be contagious when they visited this region. The dance floor beckoned when the music started up, they were intrigued by the resilient Acadian history, and Lara knew she had the perfect spot at home for a beautiful local handicraft. They also discovered the stories behind our infamous seafaring existence by visiting one of the Living Wharves and enjoyed a fresh-from-the-sea feast!
The song featured in this video is called 'Two step en Acadie' by Blou. Hailing from Meteghan, Nova Scotia, this high energy Acadian band have toured the world over with their infectious and up tempo music, taking home armfuls of nominations and awards along the way.
We went down to the wharf and bought our lobster right from the fisherman who caught it. He was quite the character and entertained us with a few ‘fish tales’. Knowing the story behind dinner made it that much more delicious!
