Description

Join us for the annual Shelburne Celebrates Christmas Event. A weekend of events including the town tree lighting, Parade of Lights, craft fairs, traditional luncheons kid’s activities, shopping throughout the town and the chance to join the locals for a traditional Christmas breakfast, carolers and much more. The event kicks off the Christmas season in Shelburne County and gives everyone a chance to get into the Christmas spirit.

Family Skate
, Shelburne County Arena, 144 John Street
This is a free event so all you need is some Christmas cheer and a pair of skates!

6:00pm – 7:30pm, Christmas Family Fun
This will take place in the warm room at the Area and is hosted by The King Street Family Resource Centre. There will be fun Christmas crafts/snacks and activities for the family.

Christmas Silent Auction Hosted by the friends of the Shelburne Library Auction runs until December 2nd at 1:00pm

6:30pm, Arrival of Santa, Lighting of the Town Tree
NEW LOCATION: Guild Hall, 11 Maiden Lane
Join in singing jolly holiday favorites and build excitement for Santa’s arrival, as he rides in on the fire truck to see the children and their families.

 

------------  Saturday, November 25, 2017 ------------ 

10:00am – 4:00pm
Christmas Craft Fair, Shelburne Community Centre 63 King Street
This is presented by the Shelburne Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Admission is free. Come and choose a from a variety of handmade crafts, arts, natural products, Christmas decorations, baked goods, preserves and jams and much more!

10:30am – 11:30am, Children’s Christmas Craft, Stories and Treats (ages 4-8)
Mackay Memorial Library, 254 Water Street – Free Admission

12:00pm – 1:00pm, Soup Luncheon
Trinity United Church Hall, 36 John Street. Various types of homemade soups, rolls and biscuits. Admission $12

6:30pm, Christmas Parade of Lights
Parade starts on Minto St. on to Water St. (south), then John St. (east) ending at the Shelburne Mall. Parade takes place rain or stars. The Food Bank will be looking for donations along the route and the Longboat Society will also be collecting gifts for the giving tree. Please mark gifts with gender/size (if necessary) and age. Also, Postie Bear and his elves will collecting Santa letters so make sure to have them ready!

 

------------ Sunday , November 26, 2017 ------------ 

9:00am – 11:00am // Breakfast with Santa
Shelburne Community Centre 63 King St. Hosted by the SVFD Ladies Auxiliary. Come out eat some breakfast, sit on Santa’s knee and get a present… what a good way to start your day. Draw a picture for Santa at our coloring station.

1:00am – 4:00pm, Shelburne Christmas House Tour
presented by Shelburne Reenactment Association. Reception at Grace Baptist Church with  Pastor Debi Hill 50 John Street. Tickets $10, available at Shelburne Furniture and Appliances (147 Water Street) and TLC  Pharmasave (157 Water Street).

4:00pm – 6:00pm, Roast Turkey Supper
Hosted by the Sandy Point Lighthouse Community Centre, 1586 Sandy Point Road.
$12 for Adults / $6 for Children under 12. Join us for a traditional turkey dinner with cranberry sauce with a variety of pie choices available for dessert.
