August 22nd, 2014 to August 24th, 2014

Wow! Queens County SeaDerby is gearing up for an awesome festival again this year… Let’s start with the highlights of what’s going on August 22, 23, & 24th, 2014, Shark Derby is our feature event again this year with no changes to pricing. Remember that a shark licence is needed and can be obtained from Department of Fisheries and Oceans. The fees will be the same as last year (we listened to the participants) and we have in your swag bags t-shirts with our logo and the year on them. Registration is always open through our pay pal account. Entertainment is shaping up to be one of our best shows ever. We are showcasing all Queens County talent. Kicking off Friday night right, after the Captain’s meeting, will be “Dave Burbine and Traditional Country” to get our house rocking! At the same time we will be having a Friday night teen dance by the gazebo in the park from 8:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Prizes will be given out at the dance. Saturday will be a happening day with the Children’s Day from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. There will be bouncy tent; and many demonstrations put on by the local groups in our area. Little Ray’s Reptiles will be here for a two hour show from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm giving you a chance to see and play with some awesome creatures including: snakes, alligators, turtles, spiders and some other creepy crawlies. And let’s not forget the favorite part, great eats!Once again we will have fries from the Kinsmen, Little Orbit Donuts, pizza and the Marina menu. A Pot luck supper by the Pilgrim United Church will be held on Saturday night from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm. Be sure to come early they always sell out. Sunday night the Ladies of the Brooklyn Anglican Church will be hosting our famous planked salmon supper. There will be two sittings: first 4:30 pm and second at 5:30 pm. And to wrap up the weekend we will be having the prizes and draws at 6:00 pm on Sunday night.
