Peggy's Cove Area Festival of the Arts 2017
The Peggy’s Cove Area Festival of the Arts combines breathtaking scenery with a wealth of local talent, and is a must for art lovers and visitors to our area. With a variety of events taking place between July 6th and 16th, you’ll find something to delight you in this exceptional place that inspires so many artists.
Our coastal arts festival will be highlighted by three main events in 2017, including our opening night gala, Studio Tour, and live painting experience.
Paint Peggy’s Cove is a three-day event that highlights the beauty and heritage of the shorelines, fishing village, and surrounding area. Artists will create new works inspired by this unique Nova Scotian community by setting up on the rocks, wharves, and park areas. Once complete, each day’s works—as well as studio pieces by the same artists—will be displayed and available for sale. There will also be demonstrations by local artisans and a children’s art tent offering a variety of free creative activities.
This three day event takes place on Saturday 8th, Sunday 9th and Monday 10th of July, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. For more information, view the Peggy’s Cove Area Festival of the Arts, Paint Peggy’s Cove.
The Studio Tour celebrates art and artists in the St. Margaret’s Bay area with 36 locations showcasing 60 artists. Between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., studios, group showings, and galleries will be open to welcome visitors and showcase the works of many diverse, talented artists. The studio tour allows visitors to chart their own free, self-guided tour through quaint communities, coves, and harbours, and experience the artistic process at work through demonstrations and exhibits.
Throughout the weekend, visitors are invited to enter their names in a draw for an art gift certificate worth $500. Entries are available in all tour locations.
The Festival will open on July 6th with a gala reception at Shining Waters Marina featuring live musical entertainment, refreshments, a silent auction of art and craft works, and a “Community Canvas” created by attendees. Tickets will be available online in the spring of 2017. For more information, visit our website at Peggy’s Cove Area Festival of the Arts, Opening Night. Be sure to join us for this vibrant arts experience!
Admission: Admission is free to all events except the Opening Night Reception. Opening Night will be ticketed at $25.00 per person.
