September 20th, 2014 to September 21st, 2014
DescriptionComing September 20th to the Halifax Seaport! The Halifax Oktoberfest is a yearly celebration of German heritage presented by Garrison Brewing in partnership with the German Canadian Association of Nova Scotia (GCA). Launched in 2009, ‘HFX Oktoberfest’ attracts roughly 1500 locals and visitors alike to the Halifax Seaport for authentic Bavarian cuisine, beverages, music and games, while raising money for the Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) and the GCA. Again this year, we will be closing down the street in front of Garrison Brewery and turning Pavilion 20 into a Bavarian-themed beer hall. People of all ages are invited for a free and authentic taste of German culture throughout the Seaport from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm beginning with a celebratory cask tapping by the Mayor at 12:00. The gates will reopen at 7:00pm for a rockin’ 19+ evening of traditional and pub music with fresh craft beer. This year we have the added benefit of welcoming a cruise ship in Port, increasing the overall foot traffic in and around the Halifax Seaport. Given the overall growth and popularity of the unique cultural festival, we anticipate roughly 2,000 attendees in 2014.
Detailed InformationAdmission: From 10am - 6pm, Halifax Oktoberfest is a FREE, family-friendly event. From 7pm - midnight, admission is $12 for a rocking good party!
