The Gathering of the Clans has been held on July 1st in Pugwash since 1951. We celebrate Canada Day and our Scottish heritage with music, dance, sports and food! Sanctioned Highland Dance competition starts at 8:30am and our Canada Day Parade is at 10am. The ACPBA sanctioned bagpipe and drum competition is held on the grounds of National Historic site, Thinkers' Lodge. Exhibition Heavyweight games are at the Cyrus Eaton Elementary School playgrounds, often featuring national and international champions. Street vendors, information booths and games and a midway start up at 8am. In the afternoon live music in Eaton Park goes on until it is dark enough for our stupendous Canada Day fireworks! All profits go to the local hospital and other non-profit organizations (by application).
