The Cabot Trail Relay is a 276.3 km/185 mile running relay through some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. It begins at the Gaelic College in St. Ann's Cape Breton, travels over steep mountains in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, through many small communities around the famous Cabot Trail including the gently rolling Margaree Valley. The event ends at the historic village of Baddeck, a little more than 24 hours later. There are 70 teams, each with a runner that runs one of the 17 legs of the race. Volunteer organizations raise funds during the weekend. A bursary is provided to a graduate of each of the four high schools along the Cabot Trail
