Les Trois Pignons houses the Museum of the Hooked Rug and Home Life, an Acadian, cultural, genealogical and visitor information centre located in Chéticamp on the world famous Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island. The museum’s theme joins the story of the settlement of Chéticamp and the story of the evolution of the hooked rugs. Visitors can see tools and demonstrations of techniques used by Chéticamp rug hookers. Our gallery features traditional antiques and contemporary hooked rugs created by some of our local craftspeople and masterpieces of Elizabeth LeFort, the world renowned artist in wool. Guided tours are available with our bilingual staff.
