Located in the Fundy Shore region (Highway 102, Exit 11 south or Exit 9 north) and just 40 minutes away from metro Halifax, the Shubenacadie Provincial Wildlife Park is set in 50 acres of natural woodlands, with native mammals and birds, as well as some exotic species. The park provides static and interactive displays on wildlife and their habitats at the Creighton Environment Centre; displays on waterfowl and wetlands at the DUC Greenwing Legacy Interpretation Centre; and wetland educational trails.
Our two kilometers of wheelchair accessible pathways provide an open and intimate environment to view the animals. Interpretive signs throughout the park will tell you everything you need to know about our wildlife exhibits. Many of our animals are born or raised in captivity, while other residents were brought to the Wildlife Park injured and cannot be rehabilitated enough to be returned to the wild.
Over 30 wild species in Nova Scotia are at risk of extinction. Join us on a walking tour or special events and learn about the Species at Risk you can see in our Wildlife Park.
Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy our 10-hectare picnic area which provides a children’s playground, shelters, tables, washrooms and running water. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult while visiting the Wildlife Park. Bus tours are welcome. For event information please visit our website.
Admission: Admission charged.
Open May 15 – October 15: 9am–7pm; O/S park open weekends only 9am–3pm.
