Located in the heart of Halifax’s historic waterfront, there’s no better place to get immersed in Nova Scotia’s rich maritime heritage than the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. 


It is the largest site in Nova Scotia that collects and interprets various elements of Nova Scotia’s marine history fromsmall craft boatbuilding to World War convoys; the Days of Sale to the Age of Steam; the Titanic to the Halifax Explosion. Step aboard the CSS Acadia, Canada’s longest-serving hydrographic vessel. 

Visit the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, where you’ll discover the stories, events and people that have come to define this province and its relationship with the sea.

Admission: Admission charged.

Open year-round: daily (Nov–Apr, closed Mon). CSS Acadia open May–Oct.
