The Bras d'Or Lakes & Watershed Interpretive Centre is situated on the main street in the village of Baddeck in the heart of Cape Breton Island. The Interpretive Centre is located in a historic three-story stone building which was once the town's Post Office and Library (c 1885), just up the road from the Baddeck Harbour and the Alexander Graham Bell Museum.

Even a short visit to the Centre will help you to appreciate the beautiful Bras d'Or Lakes and the unique ecology of its watershed. Helpful guides will lead you through our unique exhibition, including a new Biosphere Reserve display. Six interactive modules present the ecology of the Lakes "through the eyes of an eagle." With the help of satellite imaging and audio-visual representation, the biodiversity and cultural history surrounding the Bras d'Or Lakes comes to life!

Entrance to the Bras d'Or Lakes & Watershed Interpretive Centre is by donation, and you'll be supporting a good cause. All proceeds support our work to preserve and protect the Bras d'Or Lakes through education and conservation. Come and discover the rich natural history of the famous Bras d'Or Lakes!
