Grassy Island commemorates the role of the fishery in early 18th-century international trade. A thriving community of New England fishermen and merchants, it became a casualty of Anglo-French rivalry for North America. The reception centre features a film, life-size dioramas of three island property interiors, and artifacts excavated from the properties. Trails link 8 designated sites. Access by boat.
