One of the oldest buildings in the city, Quaker House (c 1785) is associated with the Nantucket Quaker whalers who were in Dartmouth from 1785 to 1792. Quaker House has been restored and furnished to reflect this period. Visitors will learn the history of Nova Scotia’s Quaker settlers when visiting this interpreted historic house. Guided tours are given during the summer months by our costumed interpreters, and a pioneer dress-up trunk is on site for children to enjoy! A fully researched and interpreted heritage garden in the museum grounds is also available to visitors.
