Nova Scotia has a wealth of provincial parks. Some are small picnic areas, and others are large parks with a variety of facilities. Mira River Provincial Park is 3 km (2 mi) east on Route 22 from Albert Bridge on Cape Breton Island, a peninsula with natural coves and swimming areas.  This quiet water-side setting offers a wide range of outdoor opportunities including camping, walking, boating, canoeing, water skiing, fishing, and swimming. Park amenities include picnic sites ranging from open shoreline to secluded, boat launch, flush toilets and a change house.  A clearly defined trail in wooded areas, open fields, and along the shore can be used in the winter months for cross-country skiing. Please note that there are no facilities in the winter and parking is at the gate only.   Our campground accommodations include 204 open and wooded overnight sites (un-serviced); group sites, and some walk-in sites are available. Sites near the shoreline are available for canoeists and kayakers. Guest amenities include flush toilets, showers, playground and games area, disposal service, fire grills, wood, and ice. Wireless Internet access is available at the administration building only and the surrounding area (please see park receptionist for details). Campground Host is on site.  Leashed pets are permitted. MasterCard, Visa and Direct Debit are accepted.
