Experience the Great Hall of the Clans Interpretive Museum located at Colaisde Na Gaidhlig (the Gaelic College) in St Ann’s (Highway 105, Exit 11) on Cape Breton Island.

An unparallelled cultural learning experience, the museum offers eight interactive displays on Scottish history and culture which shows the relationship between linguistic, music (piping, fiddle, piano), dance, Gaelic song, storytelling and crafts (textiles) of the Nova Scotia Gaels. Immerse yourself in the MacLeod exhibit that depicts Reverend Norman MacLeod’s journey from Scotland to Cape Breton, and then on to New Zealand – this is one of one of the greatest pioneering odysseys of the 19th century.

Explore the exhibits depicting the first Scottish families that settled in the St. Ann’s region back in 1820 and various displays that relate to the history, culture and the way of life of the Scottish Highlanders are exhibited throughout the Great Hall of the Clans. Visitors can also view Faire Chaluim Mhic Leòid, North America’s first Gaelic-language short film, shot in the highlands of Cape Breton.

A duty piper is on site during the months of July and August.
