This year will mark the 69th Anniversary of D-Day, the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6th, 1944. The Halifax Citadel will host a World War II themed living history weekend commemorating the Citadel's active role during World War II and Canada's contribution to the D-Day landings.
 
Featured displays will include antique military vehicles, uniforms, weapons, and models. Members of the Atlantic World War II Living History Association, a private re-enactment group, will be on hand in authentic period dress, and will operate a safe WWII weapons firing demonstration utilizing Airsoft replica machine guns. www.parkscanada.gc.ca/halifaxcitadel
