Wild Blueberries! The Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival is a celebration concentrated in Central Nova Scotia (Northumberland and Fundy Shore Regions).

This year, 25 communities will host over 60 events in celebration of the wild blueberry. The festival kicks-off on August 16 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at Truro’s Wild Blueberry Jam on the rooftop of the Marigold Centre, with a free outdoor concert. The ever-popular celebrity pie-eating contest, Moe’s Paws for Fun dog agility demo, wild blueberry crisp and fresh berries for sale, bouncy house and fun for the kids, are also part of the opening festivities.  Come for the prize draw for two $250 Downtown Truro shopping sprees and more!

Also at the kick-off learn about all of the scrumptious wild blueberry events happening throughout the festival including community picnics, dinners, teas, breakfasts, dessert parties, farmers markets, concerts, u-picks, quilt shows, wild blueberry raking and pie eating contests, processing tours and more!

Enjoy amazing wild blueberry menu items at participating restaurants throughout the region. A list of restaurants and a complete list of events can be found at http://www.wildblueberryfest.com
