Nova Scotia has a wealth of provincial parks. Some are small picnic areas, and others are large parks with a variety of facilities. Rissers Beach is 24 km (15 mi) south of Bridgewater on Route 331 in the South Shore region.  It is located on the Atlantic Coast in Green Bay at the mouth of the Petite Riviere. This beautiful picnic park has a 1.5-km (1-mi) sandy beach (supervised in July and August), an Interpretation Centre and a boardwalk along an inland marsh.  Rissers Beach is located in a bay and sheltered.  The park offers two campgrounds with a total of 90 open or wooded sites (some walk in-sites available); both campgrounds have water outlets and trailer dump stations. Park features include picnicking, canteen, trails, washrooms and a change house with showers, disposal service, fire grills, wood, and ice. Wireless Internet access is available at the administration building only and the surrounding area (please see park receptionist for details).  Leashed pets are permitted. MasterCard, Visa and Direct Debit are accepted.
