Nova Scotia has a wealth of provincial parks. Some are small picnic areas, and others are large parks with a variety of facilities. Powells Point Provincial Park is situated in the Northumberland Shore region (Highway 104, Exit 27A to Route 4 to Woodburn Road, left on Shore Road to Route 348 S. 1.5 km to park). The park boasts a large picnic area by the warmest salt water in Nova Scotia, with a sandy beach on one side and rocky on the other. For those with kayaks, the park has a boat launch. Group use is available.
