Main-à-Dieu Fishermen’s Museum located in the Coastal Discovery Centre on Cape Breton Island is a fascinating, moving insight into the changes and challenges of the fishing industry in the last 100 years. The museum features a collection of artifacts related to fishing; picture and stories of Main-à-Dieu’s local history; and replicas of boats. The Big Wave Café offers visitors a light snack. The Centre’s C@P site is also available to visitors providing 7 computers, each with a high speed Internet connection, and equipped with various software programs. Our museum is in close proximity to the Main-à-Dieu Boardwalk which overlooks the picturesque sandy beach.
