The MacDonald House Museum is a gothic-style, 150-year-old furnished farmhouse situated on top of a hill overlooking Lake Ainslie on Cape Breton Island. The museum’s exhibit room features crafts, a housing loom and spinning wheel. A barn displays farm machinery and tools and is also used for square dances and concerts during the summer. A restored one-room schoolhouse (c 1920) is also on the site. Contact the museum for special demonstrations and group tours.
