Come visit the mid-1800s Shipping Office of the Killam Brothers which played a major role in the financial growth of Yarmouth and the area. Located in the Yarmouth and Acadian Shores region, the Shipping Office has remained largely unchanged since the Killam Brothers ran their fleet of sailing vessels from this office in the 1800s. Visitors can see unique displays, including the original half model of the 1861 ship Research, complemented by the story telling of it “Voyage of Many Rudders”. Another feature is the “double stand up” desk, as well as ledgers and day books from the 1800s and early 1900s. Interpretive guides are on duty.
