This special day is like Christmas for us at the Highland Village. The Village is alive with the sights and sounds of life in the Gaelic Nova Scotia of centuries ago! Step into the past with us. There will be games for children, wool dying and soap making. Enjoy Gaelic singing and Gaelic in the bow fiddling. Pioneer Day demonstrations will also include butter churning and Mi’kmaq basket making. There will be presentations on rope splicing and water divining along with a yesteryear look at Keepin’ School. If you have old fashion taste buds, a corn boil, lemonade and tea willbe available at old fashioned prices throughout the afternoon. Pioneer Day is a great opportunity to experience Gaelic Nova Scotia's past in the present. Thigibh air chéilidh! Pioneer Day festivities run from 12- 5pm. Regular admission rates apply. Ur beatha An Clachan.
