Artist Ann Schroeder makes fine art quilts that evoke landscapes, weather, & music.  In Mabou on Cape Breton Island, winds blow fiercely, the ocean is bright or dark, hillsides sprout hay bales, and fiddlers play under starry skies.  To see this rich brew turned into art, visit Ann's hillside studio overlooking the Gulf of the St. Lawrence.  Nearby attractions include the Red Shoe Pub, beautiful West Mabou Beach, and Cabot Links golf course.

Ann's colourful abstract wall quilts are made with her own hand dyed or screen-printed fabrics.  Each one has a story which she'll be glad to share.  You'll also find a large assortment of unique hand-painted silk, cotton, or rayon scarves.  These make great gifts and take up almost no space in a suitcase.  Monoprinted T-shirts in sizes from 6 months to adult extra-large are available, as well as fabric collages, postcards, and bookmarks. Quiltmakers can purchase sets of hand-dyed cotton fat quarters.  Learn how to dye your own fabric in a 3-hour workshop for adults and children 8 and up.

Open year round by appointment or chance.
