Valley Pumpkin Fest

The "Valley Pumpkin Fest" captures and communicates the agriculture, cuisine and culture of the fall season in the Annapolis Valley and builds upon the region's existing assets: u-picks, farm markets, wineries and much more! Visit us this fall and check out the famous Pumpkin People of Kentville, the Pumpkin Regatta in Windsor, or get active in the Valley Harvest Marathon in Wolfville. Harvest time is definitely giant fun in the Valley! Event locations vary throughout Windsor, Wolfville, Kentville and Kings County!

Pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere…on the ground, on display, and yes, even in the food! Join us for a festive market decorated in pumpkins galore. Vote for the vendor with the most eye-bewitching pumpkin sculpture and you could win a pumpkin full of market goodies! Sample pumpkin and squash recipes while learning about varieties and cooking techniques. Bring a camera and partake in our Pumpkin Palooza Photo Contest. Children can make a pumpkin puppet.

After the scenic Cape d'Or Lighthouse, I travel to Port Greville to the Age of Sail Museum. This Museum displays themes such as lumbering, shipbuilding, marine life and many items that immerse visitors in this great era of Nova Scotia's history.

There's something about hiking along a shoreline in the fall that I enjoy. It must be the cooler temperature, or the scenery when the leaves have started to fall off the trees. The grass is still green and I need to be outside!
