The Shelburne Longboat Society was specifically created to carry on the legacy and success of the Loyalist Landing 2008 celebrations. Through the Society they care, maintain & manage the ownership and use of two wooden 18th century replica longboats built for, and as part of, the Loyalist Landing 2008 celebrations. They also promote an educational component that will enhance and advance the Shelburne County heritage for building wooden boats. Through this educational process, from June to September, the Shelburne Longboat Society holds FREE "row & ride" sessions in Shelburne Harbour whereby the general public has the opportunity to go for a row or a ride in the longboats. Personal flotation devices are provided by the Society and use is mandatory. All ages welcome! Weekday afternoon from 1:30 - 3:30PM See website for complete schedule.
