Nova Scotia Multicultural Festival

Go by boat. When you’re heading for a festival on the Dartmouth waterfront like the Nova Scotia Multicultural Festival, the easiest access from Halifax is via the ferries which drop you off just steps from the Festival. Fare is $2.00, less for seniors and students and the ferry runs every 15 minutes in the summer.

The Blessing of the Fleet takes place on the first Sunday after the lobster season begins (weather permitting) the local Priest and Minister bless each and every vessel as they pass by them.

This tradition has been passed down for hundreds of years.

Also in conjunction with the Blessing of the Boats is the annual lobster supper hosted by the Bay St Lawrence Fire Department.
And if for some reason you don't like lobster, ham is available as an alternative.
