Three days of outdoor activity at the northern tip of Cape Breton Island combined with three nights' shoreline Bed and Breakfast or beachside cottage accommodations, plus a gift of Cape Breton stoneware pottery.
Your bike, hike, paddle Cape Breton package includes a guided all day coastal hiking tour to former "summer fishing villages" where you will learn the history of the Highlands Scots’ move down to their summer fishing sites; a gentle guided 1/2 day introductory kayak tour in one of our harbours, paddling past seabird rookeries, along mussel and oyster grounds and beneath bald eagles; a guided gentle 1/2 day "Atlantic Fisheries" bicycle tour where you will visit wharfs, fishing boats, lobster and crab traps and learn about our seasons, harbours, and history.
You will also receive maps for self-guided exploration of secret beaches, moose hangouts, seafood off the boat, great photo ops… It's all here if you know where to look and a gift from Arts North where 24 juried Cape Breton artists retail their local pottery, jewellery, wood, fiber, prints, all celebrating the beauty of the island.
