Motorcycle Touring in Nova Scotia

Seven tourism regions showcase the remarkably diverse landscape and seascapes of Nova Scotia. The province’s 7,600 km (4,750 mi) of coastline encompass the dramatic cliffs of the Cape Breton Highlands, the verdant fields of the Annapolis Valley rolling down to the Bay of Fundy, the granite drumlins of Peggy’s Cove, and the singular beauty of lighthouses dotting the rugged outreaches of the Southern and Eastern Shore. This province was made for motorcycle touring.

Motorcyclists love Nova Scotia for the extraordinary warm welcome, the great scenery, and the uncrowded touring routes. You can zip along the 100 series of TransCanada highways or choose the slower road to unexpected delights.

Nova Scotia is a rideable distance from major centres in New England, Quebec and Ontario (sixteen hours in the seat will get you here from Boston). You can also bring your bike aboard the ferry that runs between Saint John, New Brunswick and Digby - and save your riding time for the roads of Nova Scotia.

Cabot Trail Mototcycle Trip Ideas
Plan a trip around the 300 km (187 mi) Cabot Trail, recognized as one of the world’s great scenic drives. In autumn, the trees are in their full glory and the Celtic Colours International Festival brings out the best in music and entertainment.

Motorcycling in the Fundy Shore & Annapolis Valley Region
Head for a scenic look-out along the Fundy Shore & Annapolis Valley shoreline where the world's highest tides rise and fall. If you have a chance, take a break from the road to join a whale watching boat tour on the Bay of Fundy.

Touring the Eastern and Southern Shore from Halifax
Cruise along the south shore of Nova Scotia from Halifax to the lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove and beyond, for a day trip with plenty of magnificent scenery. Motorcycling along the South Shore, you will have an opportunity to enjoy all the beautiful vistas this route has to offer.

Driving along the eastern shore, you will feel one with the road as it winds through the many coves and fishing villages that pepper this part of our beautiful province. From the white sandy beaches to the rugged coastlines this touring location is perfect for motorcycle enthusiasts.

There's something about hiking along a shoreline in the fall that I enjoy. It must be the cooler temperature, or the scenery when the leaves have started to fall off the trees. The grass is still green and I need to be outside!
