Overview
Battery Provincial Park is located on the southeast coast of Cape Breton Island (east of St. Peters on Route 4) with the entrance to the park on the east side bridge over the canal. This park is situated on a hillside overlooking St. Peter’s Bay and offers a picnic area with ocean frontage at St. Peter’s Canal National Historic Site. Park features include a small saltwater beach (unsupervised), an interpretive display and 3 km / 1.8 mi of hiking trails. There are many nearby attractions to explore including Point Michaud Beach Provincial Park, Nicolas Denys Museum (St. Peters), LeNoir Forge Museum (Arichat) and the Fortress Louisbourg National Historic Site.
Our campground accommodations include 56 open and wooded overnight sites (un-serviced). Park amenities include flush toilets, disposal station, showers, fire grills, wood, and ice. A boat launch is nearby. Wireless Internet access is available at the administration building only and the surrounding area (please see park receptionist for details). A Campground Host is on site. Leashed pets are permitted. MasterCard, Visa and Direct Debit are accepted.
