Overview
Spread out over 27 acres or pastoral landscape, 2nd Paradise Retreat is the perfect location for a romantic getaway, a group gathering, or a family vacation. The property, located near Mahone Bay in the South Shore region of Nova Scotia, slopes gently down to 1,400 feet of private waterfontage. The gentle sea breeze may inspire you to test the new kite with your children on the grassy headland stretching out into the bay. At the tip of this headland, you will find the boathouse and the wharf, a perfect place for sunbathing after a refreshing swim in the glittering water. Look out on the ocean and imagine nothing but waves. Later in the day, you will find plenty of firewood for a campfire on the shore.
There is plenty to see and do in the area. The picturesque town of Lunenburg is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The traditional centre of shipbuilding in Atlantic Canada, Lunenburg, as well as the equally delightful Mahone Bay, offers visitors a wide range of restaurants, banks and a theatre. Here you can shop for world-famous Nova Scotia folk art, local artwork and crafts, or enjoy a traditional lobster dinner. Kayak out to greet the seals, watch the deer from your front porch, hike through fields, woods or along the shore, or simply sit in an Adirondack chair, gazing up at the star-filled night.
Our accommodations include a 6-bedroom farmhouse, circa 1850, with twin, double and queen-sized beds and two 3-piece baths with a shower. There are also two 2-bedroom cottages with a 3-piece bath with roll-in shower or a spacious 1-room loft with a 2-piece and 3-piece bath with shower. For your comfort, we have a guest laundry with a washer and broadband Internet service. Bicycles, kayaks, and rowboats are included and available upon request.
