Fisherman's Reserve
Start your own gold rush. The Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia, rich with fishing villages, gorgeous beaches, and hundreds of coastal islands, was once also rich with gold. Tangier was the first gold mine to open in Nova Scotia, producing roughly 26,000 ounces of gold between 1860 and 1890. There are mining museums in Moose River and the Goldenville Gold Mining Interpretive Centre. Explore Tangier and gold mining history at Sherbrooke Village.
