Robison Family-Mount Thom

I know that my family roots in Nova Scotia originated with my Robison ancestors settling in Mount Thom about 1816. I know that they came from the Lake District in England but I do not why they came and I know nothing about what they did in England. Any help with this would be appreciated.

I also know little about the Mount Thom settlement any information on this would be appreciated.

P. S. At some point in time some branches of the Robison family morphed the family name to Robinson
