Need Help!

Hello, my name is Amy Slaunwhite and I have grown up not knowing a whole lot about my ancestors or where I have came from. As I grow older and will be starting my own family soon I become more interested in what my roots are. I have tried google and tried to navigate ancestory.com but really need to be pointed in the right direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
